In this episode of Blockheads, photographer Matt Macleod explains his journey to becoming a photographer, all the while having the most positive and grateful attitude. After realizing his direction in school wasn’t taking him on the right path, Matt dropped out to focus on his skateboard photography. Although sometimes as a photographer, you can’t pay the bills just off skateboard photos, so this had Matt struggle to make it. After years of hustling, and moving all over Vancouver Island and the mainland, it was a couple of fluke situations and random networking that led to Matt getting published in magazines, occasionally writing for the magazines as well. Matt truly is one of the most hard working photographers out there, it’s hard to match his passion not just for photography but also for his true love, skateboarding. Matt ended up going back into school for business but never stopped shooting photos. Over the years Matt has had ups and downs and still remains to keep his good outlook and positive attitude. He truly is shooting photos for the homies and will go anywhere, anytime to get the shot.
